DJ’S DOCK SERVICE GIVES BACK BY ROCKING OUT

Let us introduce you to a great company that has found a way to give back to their customers, and the residents of the Fergus Falls and surrounding lakes area communities, all while showing off the versatility and durability of the dock and lift products that they sell, service, and install in the area.

Dan Johnson, the owner of DJ’s Dock Service, an authorized ShoreMaster and PolyDock Products dealer serving the Otter Tail County Lakes Area since 2005, understands how important the dock and lift industry is to the Fergus Falls area economy. After all, a large portion of Dan’s business is the sales of new docks and boat lifts, the maintenance and service of existing docks and lifts, and the seasonal installation and removal of waterfront equipment for the area’s many waterfront property owners. With 1,100 lakes, Otter Tail County is, after all, one of Minnesota’s premier boating and vacationing destinations, and Dan Johnson has found a way to lead the area as a premier waterfront equipment sales and service business with DJ’s Dock Service.

“Rock Out With Your Dock Out”, an on-the-water summer concert series, featuring music from local band Confusion, is one of the most notable ways that DJ’s Dock Service gives back to their customers, and the community. “Rock Out with Your Dock Out is a thank you to our customers that we serve on the lakes. On average we get about 70 boats out on the water enjoying music for the afternoon. We have a lot of fun.” says Dan Johnson, owner of DJ’s Dock Service. The events are held on various lakes throughout Otter Tail County. The four 2015 Rock Out With Your Dock Out event locations were Otter Tail Lake, Lake Lida, and Big Cormorant, with Otter Tail Lake benefiting from two shows. The band Confusion has been the primary headliner of each event. With a clean, upbeat sound and an ability to play a diverse musical set, depending on the audience, Confusion has been able to watch the on-the-water events grow with each show, and they hope to continue playing the events as more and more people discover what it means to “Rock Out With Your Dock Out”.

WHAT’S WITH THE FLOATING STAGE?

The “Rock Out With Your Dock Out” stage, as conceptualized by Dan Johnson, uses 5 of the PolyDock Products 4’ x 10’ dock sections to create a 10’ x 20’ floating platform for the band to play on during each event. Dan chose the PolyDock Products dock sections for the stage in large part due to their:

Incredible Flotation Capacity – Each 4′ x 10′ section has a capacity of up to 2,625 pounds giving the stage a total flotational capacity of over 13,000 pounds. While we don’t recommend it, that is probably enough capacity to park the band’s tour van on without getting the wheels wet.

Superior Stability – Because when you’re rocking out with your dock out, the last thing you want to do is end up in the drink with your sound equipment.

Firm Slip-Resistant Surface – The herringbone brick pattern looks great and features a shot peen finish so it’s slip-resistant and should keep your bass player on the stage and not in the water, even when they are channeling Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers during a moment of musical brilliance.

Extreme Durability – As Dan Johnson, and the crew that installs and removes the PolyDock Products “Rock Out With Your Dock Out” stage can attest to, the PolyDock floating dock system is incredibly durable and can withstand quite a bit of abuse and still look as good as a 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard sounds.
